Early Voting
This year, voting is easier than ever.  In accordance with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), Early Voting will begin February 27th in Chicago and Suburban Cook County. Early Voting will take place at designated locations around Chicago, and at Township Offices in Suburban Cook County.  Unlike Absentee Voting, you do not need to have a reason or excuse to vote early. Actual polling places will be set up in each of the early voting locations.  As we get more information about early voting locations and hours, we will post it to our website.

The Cook County Clerk's office and the Chicago Board of Elections now have up to date information on Early Voting locations and procedures.

If you live in Chicago, you may vote at any one of the 20 Early Voting locations set up throughout the city.

If you live in Suburban Cook County, then you either need to vote at your local town hall, or you can vote downtown at the Cook County Board of Elections at 69 W. Washington, in Chicago.  You can go to the County Clerk's Voterinfonet website to find out exactly where you can early vote if you live in the suburbs.

New Voting Equipment
Chicago and Suburban Cook County also have new voting equipment this year.  Each polling place will be equipped with a fully accessible touch screen voting machine, as well as easy to use optical scan ballots, which are similar in use to a standardized test. The Cook County Board of Elections has put together a great hand out on these changes.

The Cook County Board of Election and the Chicago Board of Elections now have up to date information on the New Voting Equipment.
